Katy Perry unveiled the very racy alternate cover for her upcoming album 143 on Thursday — as she desperately tries to salvage her comeback.
For the ‘exclusive’ cover for Urban Outfitters, the Teenage Dream hitmaker, 39, shows off her famous bust in a risque star-shaped ʙικιɴι top and a sheer black cutout dress.
She’s posed in front of a dreamy blue backdrop with one arm tucked behind her head, her eyes closed and her mouth slightly agape.
One half of Katy’s svelte figure is lit with a moody red hue as her windswept raven hair flows down her back.
The striking cover pH๏τo was captured by British pH๏τographer Jack Bridgland in collaboration with OTM creative director Tal Midyan.
The talented duo are also behind the original 143 album cover and the artwork for Katy’s lead single Woman’s World and upcoming single Lifetimes.
‘143 exclusively for @urbanoutfitters [star-emoji],’ wrote the 13-time Grammy nominee, who earned nearly 400,000 likes on Wednesday’s post.
The ‘143 Limited LP’ is currently available for pre-order on UrbanOutfitters.com for $39.98.
‘Katy Perry’s long-awaited sixth studio album, 143 launches the popstar into a new, exciting era. Available on Urban Outfitters exclusive clear black vinyl. 2024, Capitol/Capitol Music Group,’ the item description reads.
Orders are expected to ship out on September 20 — the day of Katy’s album’s release.
One day after the cover unveiling, Katy returned to Instagram to share new behind-the-scenes pH๏τos from her Lifetimes video shoot in Ibiza.
The stunning images show a ʙικιɴι-clad Katy rocking a mirrored sarong while climbing on the towering monolithic pillars that make up the ‘Stonehenge of Ibiza.’
The raven-haired beauty reminded her 206million followers that Lifetimes will be released ‘one week’ from now on August 9 at midnight.
She also encouraged fans to ‘pre-save’ the song on their preferred streaming platform.
Katy confirmed that Lifetimes would be the second single off 143 earlier this week.
On Monday morning the pop star wrote to her 206 million Instagram followers: ‘LIFETIMES AUGUST 9 SONG + VIDEO PRE-SAVE NOW KATY.TO/LIFETIMES.’
She recently shared that the track was inspired by her and fiancé Orlando Bloom’s daughter Daisy, who turns four August 20.
Katy coordinated a dance with influencer duo Brooke Blewitt and Jess Qualter to accompany the teaser snippet — and Irish singing duo Jedward appeared in the clip.
It comes less than one month after her comeback single Woman’s World failed to impress fans.
The Lifetimes announcement post has so far collected 165,000 likes as fans are anxious to see the music artist recover from the project’s lackluster first single.
Katy revealed how her daughter inspired her upcoming song in an appearance on The One Show.
She said that the idea for the tune stemmed from a sweet exchange between her and the tot.
The proud mom gushed, ‘Lifetimes is a song that I wrote inspired by my daughter. Obviously, I tell her ”I love you” before she goes to bed every night, but I’ve started telling her, ”Will you find me in every lifetime?” and she says ”Yes.”’
The singer-songwriter shared another anecdote: ‘The sweetest thing is we’ve been all over Europe this summer and we’ve been to a lot of beaches and I bought a big stack of chocolate gold coins, and when we’re building sandcastles I will hide them as she’s digging and she will find them, so she loves finding chocolate coins.
‘So the other day I said, “Will you find me in every lifetime?” and she said, ”Yes and we’ll find chocolate coins together!”‘
The entertainer’s album 143 is slated for a September 20 release.
Discussing the тιтle of the album, she explained on the podcast: ‘That’s my angel numbers. It’s what I see when I need guidance or confirmation, or just confidence I’m in the right place, right time.’
The H๏τ N Cold hitmaker’s song Woman’s World was controversially co-produced by Dr. Luke, who singer Kesha has accused of Sєxual ᴀssault and rape.
She previously worked with the 50-year-old music producer on her singles I Kissed A Girl and Teenage Dream, among others.
Katy began teasing the new music in late June and the full song and accompanying video dropped back-to-back on July 11 and 12.
‘She understands she is controversial by working with Dr. Luke again, but they work so well together, and they have such a rapport with each other that she knows him in a different way than others might,’ a source recently told DailyMail.com.
‘Her relationship with Dr. Luke is an important one,’ the insider continued. ‘So to have worked with him again is something she isn’t bothered about, even though plenty of fans are.’
