Katy Perry showed off her toned figure as she donned a stunning pink dress after recently announcing her exit from American Idol.
The 39-year-old pop star unveiled her bold new look while speaking about her drinks business at a conference in Los Angeles, California. She promoted the company, De Soi, which she founded alongside Morgan McLachlan, while attending the Upfront Summit on Thursday.
She was pictured in unedited sH๏τs, speaking to the crowd while wearing a bright pink outfit complete with pink shoes. Katy smiled at the audience while holding her microphone, and later shared some pH๏τos of the event on her Instagram profile too.
She wrote: “I’m that girl that doesn’t put her arms in her coat or preservatives in her cans ammiright @drinkdesoi. Got to bring my better-for-you sparkling non alc aperitif and my H๏τ takes on industry lingo like COGS to the @upfrontvc this past #thirstythursday.”
Fans rushed to the comment section to praise the singer as one wrote: “Singer, businesswoman, judge tell me something you don’t do.” Another wrote: “You look wonderful.” One more added: “An icon. a legend. a mother.”
One commented: “Amazing and confident look as always.” Another person called her “beautiful” while other fans urged Katy to release a new album.
It comes as Katy announced she will step down as a judge on American Idol, shocking fans on Monday’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! when she broke the news. She said: “I think this probably will be my last show, my last season for Idol,'” she said, responding to a question from Jimmy Kimmel about how long she plans to stay on Idol, and added: “I feel like I need to go out and feel that pulse to my own beat.”
A source who works as a consultant on major network shows for ABC revealed: “There are three factors at play centered around her deal and her family. Katy enjoyed the best deal for reality in TV, worth around $30m a year. It madd her the (highest female star for reality and entertainment. But ABC do not want to up it after five years of increases. There is no wiggle room as the parent company Disney looks to be cost-effective and keep spending down for the next couple of years.
“That edict comes from the very top. So Katy was advised the deal is the same and you are welcome to continue. ABC bosses know she is the one who draws the eyes to the show, but she also the most expensive.”
PR expert Rebecca May said Kate is “ready to make waves” after leaving the American TV show. Rebecca, who is the boss of RM Publicity and knows a lot about celebrities, explained: “This statement gives us a clue: as much as she is pᴀssionate about helping guide others’ careers, she has acknowledged that American Idol helped her reach new audiences.
“She is now ready to launch new music and focus on her pop career. After seven years on the judging panel, she has indicated in recent interviews that she has unfinished business in the music industry and with her solo career.” She continued: “Whatever the catalyst for her resignation as a judge, her co-judges were shocked by the news, but I am sure this decision is strategic for her wider career. Given that her Las Vegas Residency came to an end last November, she appears motivated to make bold changes and reignite her true pᴀssions.”
