Her new blockbuster movie has already generated criticism, some two weeks before its official release – but actress Emma Watson won only praise as she fulfilled another promotional commitment for forthcoming biblical epic Noah on Tuesday.
The 23-year-old star was making an appearance at New York’s iconic Ed Sullivan Theatre, home of The Late Show With David Letterman – where she was interviewed by the genial host about her latest role.
Emma looked vaguely androgynous in a smart black trouser suit and crisp white shirt as she posed for pH๏τos outside the studio doors, and the fitted ensemble – in particular the skinny ‘cigarette pant’ trousers – complimented her slender frame.

The British actress’s look was completed with stylish aplomb courtesy of her glossy black stiletto heels, while accessories were tasteful in their scarcity, with Emma opting only for a silver clutch, simple earrings and a series of subtle rings.
With her hair тιԍнтly pulled across her head Emma’s generous application of make-up was pushed to the fore, and her dramatic slash of blood red lipstick gave an otherwise neutral look an added splash of colour.
The actress joins a star-studded ensemble cast in Darren Aronofsky’s Noah, a religious epic based around Noah’s Ark from The Book Of Genesis, with Russell Crowe playing the fabled biblical figure.
Emma plays Ila, the wife Noah’s son Shem, played by Douglas Booth, while other stars making appearances in the new film include Sir Anthony Hopkins as Methuselah, Ray Winstone as Tubal-cain and Jennifer Connelly as Naaemeh, Noah’s wife.
The film is understood to have been banned in several countries for depicting religious characters, with censorship boards in Bahrain, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates informing distributor Paramount that they won’t be releasing the film.
Speaking to the Telegraph about her new role, the actress revealed that she sees a significant number of uniting principles between ‘so many religions’.
