Like many of the other celebrities at last night’s Met Gala, Emily Ratajkowski opted for a vintage look in keeping with the event’s theme, “The Garden of Time”. Ratajkowski stuck with her commitment to resurrecting archival fashion pieces for the event when she later stepped out in another vintage number for an after-party in Tribeca.

Her daring, ultra revealing look was a carefully selected archival Givenchy by Alexander McQueen dress from the 1998 spring/summer collection. The mini dress featured a super sheer base which was covered with beaded sparkly stars. The high neckline features a beaded fringed bib, while the asymmetrical hemline was dripping in the same fringe. Below the see-through dress, Ratajkowski wore a set of Sєxy black underwear, also covered in delicate sparkles. The underwear set, designed by Victoria Secret, was specially designed to imitate the underwear originally worn with the dress on the runway. She accessorized with a black fringed purse covered in silver stars and black sandals with fringed straps that wrapped up around her calves.

Earlier in the evening, Ratakowski had donned another barely-there archival piece on the red carpet of the Met Gala as she ascended the iconic steps, opting for a crystal-encrusted naked dress from Versace’s 2001 fall-winter collection, which revealed her bare chest and her ʙuтт in the back.

As her stylist Jorden Bickham told Vogue, EmRata had been determined to pull from the fashion archives for both looks. “Emily and I thought a lot about time and fragility,” said Bickham, referring to the gala’s theme of “The Garden of Time”. “The Givenchy after-party dress, from 1998 and designed by Lee McQueen, is entirely hand-beaded, as is the Atelier Versace from 2001 — they are in incredible shape considering they are both over 20 years old.”

Bickham went on to explain that that the after-party look was just as important as the red carpet look that came before it. “It is something that you love so much you can almost imagine yourself wearing it on the red carpet,” she said, adding, “As much care and attention to detail has to go into the after-party look from head to toe!”
