KATY Perry’s outfit on American Idol has been dragged by fans online and fellow judge Luke Bryan.

Katy, 39, sits on the judging panel of American Idol with Luke, 47, and Lionel Richie, 74.

At the start of Sunday’s three-hour-long episode where the Top 20 was announced, host Ryan Seacrest, 49, introduced the judges.

The three musicians walked out from the back of the stage as the audience roared with applause.

After getting closer to the audience, Luke turned to Katy while shimmying and shaking his body toward her.

She then raised her arms and shimmied her body back and forth.

Their dance moves made sense once they were finally seated with their backs to the audience.

Ryan commented on how Luke’s pants have been getting тιԍнтer every episode while Lionel’s has been getting looser.

Katy then chimed in and said, “And Luke said I look like the inside of a car wash.”

The comment made Luke let out a loud belly laugh.

It then became clear that their earlier dances mimicked a car wash’s movement.

The reference was so on point that Katy posted a pH๏τo on X, formerly known as Twitter, where she’s PH๏τoshopped into a car wash.

THE FIT

The base of the pop singer’s outfit was a floor-length black sheer dress with a glittering silver criss-cross design.

What made the dress so unique was the giant grey and black pom-poms scattered all over the dress.

The pom-poms were larger than a softball and placed in a line down her left side.

On her right side, they were scattered on the dress from her shoulder down to the floor.

Her hair was slicked back into a тιԍнт updo, and she paired the outfit with large silver earrings.

However, Luke wasn’t the only person to drag Katy for the wild outfit as many fans on X shared their negative points of view.

One said, “You are stunning Katy but this dress? Well, I honestly don’t know what to think. Lol, You look great in it but it’s sooo…different?”

“Looks like Katy Perry was attacked by a pack of Velcro poodles,” added another.

A third fan commented, “That’s quite the dress, Katy.”

“You look so good Kary – crazy dress and all! …not that you EVER look bad!!!” wrote a kinder fan.

Katy decided to wear this тιԍнт yet distracting outfit only a few weeks after fans thought she was hiding a baby bump.

She was seen on the set of an earlier episode of Idol while rocking a flowy floral dress that hid her figure.
